ZipCar, GetAround, Turo, etc. - curious about if anyone has used these services and what your thoughts are? Worth it? How does the car quality compare to just renting through Hertz or Budget? I'm thinking about grabbing one for a trip up to Napa, but I'd like to hear your experiences first.

I've used GetAround for a while and its always been a great experience!! In fact, I had my car in GetAround for almost a year and other folks rented it while I wasn't using it.

Awesome, GetAround was the main one I was looking at! I'm curious, how was your experience letting other people drive your car? Any horror stories??

Nothing happened to my car, but I do know that Getaround has insurance as well so if something happens, they cover it. I haven't had my car in the program for a while so I'm not sure if anything has changed since then.

I used to rent cars through carshare services all the time! Turo is my favorite for day trips like ones up to Napa, because you rent in 24 hour sets, meaning you don't sweat if you get back a little later. GetAround is good for several hours at a time, but they can really add up cost-wise. Definitely only have had positive experiences renting people's cars.

Great to hear both of your experiences, it sounds like GetAround is the one to choose!
