Most car wash places seem to leave dirts on my seats (cuz those busy workers sit on the seat with dirty pants). Is there a car wash in the Millbrae area (10 miles radius) that does a good job without charging a fortune?

If anyone knows of one in the city (other than the fancy one on Divisadero) I'm all ears!

  1. I just went to the one on South Van Ness.  Even with the 24.99 wash they did a great job, interior smelled like new without any fragrance added (never again after that horrible coconut incident).

I am used to Los Angles, the land of car washes, where you can get a great hand wash on the west side for less than 10 bucks.  Don't look too much into that.

  2. PS: separate note, I hope all you yelpers out there tip your car washers. Good karma and all.

I thought it was customary to just allow the guys to  help themselves to their own tips from the change tray in the car?   My change tray and bridge toll stash used to be raided ....

  3. damn, well that works to HH.  involuntary tips...
(I don't cross any bridges and I have handicapped parking so I don't really carry change) next time I will leave a few quarters in the dash and see what happens

i usually go to tower car wash.. on mission, but i am always unhappy. there are always spots left, and the underbody is never cleaned fully... it's like they give up cause my car is big (chevy tahoe). Which annoys me because they charge me big car extra... i dont feel like they deserve the tip, but i still do anyways... plus they overcharge there ;p  whats the normal tip amount? a couple $$?

Autopride on Carolan at Broadway in Burlingame, CA is the only place to go.  Full hand dry, gas, etc.  S-L-O-W on weekends and last Monday.  I guess they didn't have enough people working, but for $12.95 it's the only place decent for miles.

Try the one at Ninth and Howard next to the Chevron gas station.  It's only $5.00, it's fast, the people are nice, and they do a great job.

I'm gonna have to give Mister J's recommendation a shot. It's fairly close to me and sounds like they do a good job. I'm in need of a detailing right about now. Thanks!

Ducky's. They're fast, do a pretty good job and are the only car wash company around here that filters their used wash water before using it on your car. Car washes are required to recycle water and even places that use the scratch-free brushes can leave tiny scratches because pf the particles in the water and on the brushes themselves.

2 more things about Ducky's. 1) I've never had anything taken from my car, not even loose change. 2) You can get $2 and $4 off coupons on their website. I keep a bunch in my glove box at all times.
