I have a rental property. Once there was a repair needs to be done. I asked a contractor to come by and take a look. Afterwards, I received an email from the tenants emphasizing their legal rights if I don't fix the problem. I was wondering why they act so aggressive until I found out the contractor gave them a legal rights talk, and used them to push me to hire him.
Although the repair is done, I feel terrible about this contractor. How do you think I shall deal with this contractor?

Give him a mediocre review on Yelp. The contractor works for you, not for your tenants. It's none of your tenants' business who you hire as long as the work gets done satisfactorily.

If they clam legal right , how bad was the repair needed?  Heat,  water or clogged drain?
