We are looking to go camping near Sacramento (willing to travel up to an hour or little more). We are traveling with a 3 year old and a 16 year old....so we are looking for a nice shady spot....maybe one with a play structure and showers near by.  I think the only things that are a must are SHADE and Nice Bathrooms/Showers.  We would also like to go to a spot we could rent a jet ski......
If youhave any suggestions.....and maybe even a campsite number, it would be very much appreciated :)

I have heard Camanche is nice, but may not have a lot of shaded areas.  Has anyoone been there that can suggest a camp site number that has shade?

Oh, were not big drinkers, so if we go to a non-alchohol campsite we will be fine.

    Thanks in advance!

lake camanche is great, it does have shaded areas and well if it doesn't you can always bring something along for shade.. just remember if you cant swim very well seriously do not try swimming across the whole lake lol..

The Folsom Lake area was nice.  I camped on the peninsula side which had plenty of shade but was very remote.  I think the sites on the other side of the lake are easier to get to, have as much shade, and more activities.  Don't know about the jet ski rental though.
