Yeah, yeah, I know...the term 'Bucket List' is way played out, and may even conjure up images of Jack Nicholson in a hospital gown (or is it just me?). But, the concept is great. Get off your arse and LIVE!

If you had to compile a list of the 5 most amazing, must-see/ must-do experiences in the East Bay, what would they be? Ideally, they'll be non-touristy things; things that locals might not even know exist in their backyard but are uber-unique East Bay gems.

A couple way rad things I'd put on my list are:
    - Visit Port Costa (a time warp of a town, near Martinez)
    - Watch a film at the Silent Film Museum in Niles (the original Hollywood)
    - Take a gondola ride around Lake Merritt
    - Climb Mount Diablo (or just drive to the top and claim that you hiked it)

And of course there are tons others. What are some of YOUR best EB memories / things everyone should see/ do/ experience in their lifetime?

@Trish, nice line-up! I especially like the oh-so-lofty goal of finishing that 3-scoop split. We could tag-team it? Does that count?

    Good question!

    - Dine at Chez Panisse, but unsure on their reopening date. In the meantime, Commis for their Michelin-star cuisine!
    - Explore Alameda. Maybe because it's an island--I never go there!
    - Climb Mount Diablo--on my list too!
    - Go to Oakland Art Murmur/First Friday.
    - Visit the Albany Bulb. I've only heard good things and seen good pictures.

Drive through Pt. Molate, just below the Richmond-San Rafael bridge. Incredible views. Beautiful old winery building. Boarded up old Navy homes. Like a ghost town.

Then drive further towards San pablo Yacht club - you need to have a car that can handle rough roads - and after winding a mile or so across the hills, you will see the floating home cove below you , like a pirate cove in a movie
