So I want to go somewhere that me and my friend can meet new people. Somewhere with good vibes, entertainment, and good food that not too expensive.

  1. Not the best time to hang out with strangers.

  2. ::Rona enters the chat::

  3. Don't make Cuomo come out and get ya

  4. "New York issued another 105 violations to bars in NYC and Long Island this weekend in an effort to keep people from congregating during the COVID-19 pandemic, Governor Andrew Cuomo announced Sunday morning."

don't come to FL, you'll have a higher chance of getting rona

  6. Don't be like these people:

"14 in Texas family test positive for coronavirus after small gathering, 1 dies

Fourteen members of the same family in Texas tested positive for the coronavirus following a small gathering in June hosted by a man who says he believed the coronavirus was a hoax. One of them has died and another is on life support."

Thanks for the advice. Yeah I told her it isn't the best idea to go out. I thought there were places that do outside or inside dinning, a good place to eat.

  7. Oh, you were asking for a friend.

Well, places that serve food can do outdoor dining (maintaining 6ft. distance between tables) alongside pickup and delivery, but indoor dining is still off-limits.

Do you think the country will close again?

  8. No, I don't think so. Once a state started to reopen, it would be very hard to close down again.

Of course this will do nothing to lower the infection rate.

  9. Scott,

In the US we're still in the first wave. I just don't think that, the way things have been going in this country, we will ever be able to overcome the first wave until an effective vaccine becomes available.

Now, if you mean a second wave here in NY caused by this never-ending first wave still going on in the majority of states across the US, then yes: I don't see how we can effectively protect ourselves from the virus re-entering NY from any of the 40 states that are currently experiencing very high infection rates.

The imposed quarantine can only be effective as long as people coming to NY from any of these states decide to follow the law and quarantine. Even though the quarantine for visitors coming to NY from the list of states that currently have high infection rates is the law, it's impossible to really monitor the visitors, let alone enforce the quarantine.

Add to that the fact that a lot of people in NY have become complacent (I mean, just look at the very first post in this thread), and I think we're fucked?

  10. Well. There goes another semester. I was supposed to clerk for a judge. Now it'll revert to a class with the hardest professor in the department. I better restock my bar.
