In the past I loved Cielito Lindo Mexican Gastronomy and, since it closed in 2020, I have been enjoying the excellent food at Tequila Museo Mayahuel.

Are there any other gourmet Mexican restaurants in the El Dorado Hills-Auburn-Davis triangle that can compete?

Tres hermanas is my go to. Hella bomb. Cantina Alley is good too but the drinks be solid here, more variety I feel

  1. You're quite welcome

  2. We love Tres Hermanas and drive up there to eat often. It was my first Yelp review 10 years ago. They have excellent Mexican food, but I wouldn't call it high end. For high end to me that is Zocalo or Tequila Museo Mayahuel. But, there are well over 100 Mexican restaurants in this area and I have only been to a dozen or so.

I think that Casa Tulum on Alhambra is fantastic and one of the most underrated Mexican places in the region.

  3. Carmelitas in Fair Oaks.

Jenny P, me, too (re: bookmarking), LOL!

  5. It's not high end, but Wild Rooster in Old Fair Oaks is my current fav Mexican spot.

I'm curious...how many of you have eaten Mayahuel food and, if so, what is your opinion of it?

  6. I like their food, but their tequila selection is where it's at. It's a really nice date night spot. *swoon*

  7. I like Mayahuel. It's pricey, but I feel the quality is there. Definitely a great date might spot.

Jenny, I want to try their tequila sometime.

When I have gone to Mayahuel it has always been somewhat of a drive to/from (about 30-35 mins), and I'm a light-weight, so....

I have had tequila flights there on several occasions. I usually had some appetizers on the side that were really good but also very pricey. I have never eaten a meal there though. I think Centro Cocina Mexicana has a better tequila selection though. Their top shelf is generally rated higher on tequila.com.
