Seen this in the news. Looks like the city of Sacramento wants parking meters to stop working at 10:00pm.

That's BS they tried doing that in Oakland some years back but the people fought against it. Up until today this time Meters stop at 6:00pm. How does that make you feel.

Old news.  We've been tracking this dastardly-"revenue" issue for a few months now.  And not just meters.  The 2-HR parking sign in front of my Midtown home saw its enforcement period upped from 6pm to 10pm as well...

It's gonna suck for large groups of friends coming over for an evening dinner party or to watch a game after work:  only ONE "visitor pass" to hand out - everyone else will have to move their cars 1, maybe 2 times..

I remember in Oakland they tried to also make the Meter times go up back in like 2009 or 08 somewhere around that time. But a scandal broke out when a Report came out that Parking enforcement was ticketing people in areas where large numbers of people of color Lived Mostly in Black neighborhoods. So sentiment quickly changed and a few protest they dropped it and kept it how it always was till 6:00pm.

I don't have any visitor passes unless I want to give up my garage spot. Sad sad.

This month only is grace period.  Parking enforcement should only be handing out "warnings," not tickets.

Parking Enforcement is so desperate, they've pulled out old mining ox carts to give tickets in Old Sac during Gold Rush Weekend.

Parking enforcement is so obnoxious they're ticketing skater kids playing/sitting on the curb of a metered spot.

Parking enforcement is so asinine they're paroling convicted robbers from prison early to make them meter maids since they'll looking to use those valuable skill sets.

The mayor wanted to build an arena to appease his friends and cohorts.

He's a no-talent hack named Kevin Johnson that got famous playing basketball with no political qualifications at all - other than a cheese used car salesman smile.

The greedy bureaucrats saw dollar signs and said F*CK the citizens and their day to day lives, we need pay raises and MORE TAXES!

The sweetheart deals drew in all the contractors to build stuff at outrageous prices.

Price gouging by contractors and politicians alike became the rule of the day.

The city spent $2,750,000 of TAXPAYER MONEY on a stupid F*CKING piece of art to put in front of this blasphemous arena.

They gouged everyone for parking in the area and increased fees and times fees were charged

You should blame all the idiots that voted for the arena and the ignorant sports fans that were so short-sighted and hell bent on keeping the team that they made stupid decisions to support the project.

Idiots that support big government involved in PRIVATE ENTERPRISE SPORTS TEAMS deserve what they get in this.

It's one of the many reasons I boycott Sacramento.  I refuse to pay for this crapola.
