Has anyone used any of the airport shuttles (to be picked up at home and brought to the airport) and had a positive experience?  I am flying out early Saturday morning, live three miles from the airport, and don't want to pay to park, or rely on a cab actually showing up when they say they will.  THANKS!  (the reviews don't say much good about any of the shuttles....)

Honestly, I've had better luck with the cabs. They've tended to be cheaper and on time just as often.

I usually use Cloud 9. They are fine but they tend to pick you up eay earlier than you need to be at the airport because they pick up multiple people on the way. But since you are close, you would probably be a last stop.

I've used Cloud 9, a bit expensive but reliable.  All the shuttles are pretty expensive.  One time I took the city bus...THAT SUCKED, but it was cheap.

I think you can get airport parking at $9 a day.  Try san.org

I've used both Super Shuttle and Cloud 9 when the cost of the ride is cheaper than the cost of the multiple nights of airport parking.  Both have been satisfactory.

Has anyone used Primetime?  They quoted me only eleven bucks.

where you live, Point Loma?  The city bus might work out even though it's a horror.  One time Cloud 9 picked me up with a Limo because the driver happened to be in my area.  When he dropped me off people were looking and smilling at me as if I was a movie star.  That was cool.

the bus sucks man, I had to use the first 9 months when I first moved to SD.  Lots of smelly freaks.  The one time I took it to the airport, this old geezer stepped and STOOD on my luggage.  I was better off hitchhiking and offering hand jobs.

The bus at 5 AM does not sound appealing.

Joey - I've also had Cloud 9 pick me up in a limo. Free upgrades are sweet.

5am would only work out if you drink all night and ride in a drunken stuper.

Tiffany - I have a friend in OB and whenever he needs a ride to the airport at 5am, we just stay up all night and I drop him off. That seems to work out :)

Since when do cabs not show up on time?

Cloud 9 is good, but like others have said they do come early.  And hope you're not the first one to be picked up!

When I lived off Eagle & Washington in Mission Hills, I just used a cab.  They are usually right on time and don't cost as much as Cloud 9.  Many cab companies will schedule a pick-up the night before.

I have a friend in OB that said he takes the 923 bus to the airport every week.

I dunno if my place is hard to find or what, but every time I call a cab, they got lost, show up 45 minutes later than they say they will, dint show up at all, or show up early.  That is okay when I am headin to the bar, not okay when I have a plane to catch.  Plus at 5 AM I will be half asleep, drunk, or both.  Thanks all for the pointers.  Cloud 9 is only 14 bucks so I am gonna go with that route.  Maybe I'll luck out and roll into the airport VIP style in a limo :)

Well I'll be. My place is pretty hard to miss I guess. I've never had issues with cabs here, but I don't usually test them either.

So I just booked with Cloud 9, and you get 50 miles toward your NWA frequent flier miles for booking online.  Nice bonus.

I was tempted to walk to the airport. It's just down Laurel and I only had a carry on. Then I realized that might be too much exercise. Cloud 9 seems like the right way to go.

tiffany, i would love to discuss cloud 9 transportation further with you, maybe over a nice dinner and some fine wine.
