    American Home Shield replaced the central heat and air unit four years ago. The company they sent put in an 8 year old unit. American Home Shield does not guaranty the companies they use. We now have to replace the unit again. Another $2,000 out of pocket. Should have just paid the repairs four years ago and not wasted the money for American Home Shield! Used to be a good warranty. Don't waste your money now!

    Sounds like BS to me. A furnace should last 20 years. What broke? Did you perform annual maintenance? Change the filters?

    I agree! Don't waste your money on this sham of a company.  It's amazing they're still in business.

    Yes, the unit should last much longer. Goodman doesn't make the part that quit anymore. No more warranty because the unit was already 8 yrs old when it was installed and that was about 4yrs. Ago. Was supposed to be a new unit. The repair company didn't even get a building permit as required. American Home Shield is supposed to follow up on these things and they didn't!

    I've only had good experiences with this company. I can't recommend them highly enough. I believe this is probably user error.
