specifically a facuet for my mothers kitchen. redoing it. shes handling some stuff, im buying her appliances. got some decent stuff already, stove/oven, dishwasher, sink, hood.... i need a nice fixture.

what i had in mind is like the ones you see in commericial kitchens, you know one one into counter, springloaded to keep up right, has a lever to turn water on and off at the head and control temp at the base.

fyi, i need like NOW. buy right now.

    thanks guys.

really the best places to get them are from the catalogs and online dealers. we have those temp controlled ones at my house. really expensive.

There is a place in Berkeley that has one-of-a-kind salvaged stuff... some is very cool.

  1. For inexpensive stuff that gets the job done, Economy Restaurant Fixtures somewhere near 7th and 16th.

For stuff to drool over and covet, the kitchen/bath shop upstairs at Limn Gallery at 4th and Townsend (think thousands of dolalrs per fixture and yes, they are commercial grade or better).

There is a decent place on Bayshore.  Also, I think Home Depot can order most of this stuff.  Most anyplace you go it's a special order from a catalog.  There's all kinds of gaskets, fittings, etc., you need and make sure you have enough clearance, the spacing is right, etc.  This is classic take it home, try to install it, give it up, and call a plumber territory.  So figure an extra $100 for that.

Euge, beware the Expo.  If they order it, you might not get it for a LONG time.

They will cheerfully tell you otherwise, and then you'll be in back order hell for weeks if not longer.

Think they have a hub in Potrero Hill right off 4th or 5th streets.
