Does anyone know how to get in touch with those cardboard recycling trucks that whiz around the streets picking up cardboard off the curb?
Have a bunch of cardboard that won't fit in my Sunset Scavenger bin (both the recycling and compost bins). Would prefer to not drive it to a recycling center. That and I'm sure the cardboard recycling trucks wouldn't mind getting a huge heap of it.12/19/2011 -

It's sunny this week, right? Just leave it on the curb and watch it disappear

Tried it. I live in a not-so-trafficked part of the sunset so things like these just sit out on the curb for a while.

Call your local UPS store and ask what day they come by.

Call Golden Gate Recology and inquire. Trust me, the city would rather get those for recycling than risk you tossing them somewhere and have them end up in landfill. BTW, please do not put stuff like that in the compost bins :-)

Called Recology already, they are the ones that said put in the compost bins, so thanks for your help.

Next time you see one just ask them if they want to do a pick up. They're not the sort of firm that advertises.

John: Funny you mention that. Ran into one yesterday, they barely spoke English, but I told them I had cardboard they can pickup. Wrote down my address on a piece of paper, told them it'll be outside in 30 minutes, they said they'll be there in 45 minutes. Left it overnight, no one took anything.
