1. Need a couple of 20' (or around there) HDMI cables and refuse to pay Best Buy's ripoff prices.  Any suggestions for a good cheap local place in SF before I drive down to Fry's?

Check Central Computer.  They are the best computer store in SF (which is quite an understatement and quite sad considering its proximity to Silicon Valley).  I suspect their prices will be super high though.  Also, if you drive to Fry's take into consideration the cost of gas.

It's not an understatement, it's a statement that's not saying much.  It is the best computer store in SF, but it still sucks.

  2. Yeah, I'm with you Mike, but I'm i the middle of mounting my TV and just found out one of the ends on one of the cables is bad.  *grumble*

if not ebay, craigslist may be a quicker option.
I've been surprised at the shit I can find on that site.  You know, besides hookers.

+1 more for Central Computer.  At least they're close, and not as expensive as best buy, etc.

If you have the time to mail order, check out monoprice.

There are a couple of places on Amazon that offer 6' ones for $0.01 but the shipping is like $5. so go in with some folks to maximize an already great value..

My neighbor ordered from them last year and got an extra for me... I am gonna order 2 more soon, but maybe not in time for your level of urgency.
