I have a little rust spot on my car where a "ding" is.   I'm thinking of fixing it myself.  Is Kragen Auto Parts a good place to go for the supplies or is there another place I should consider?  Thanks!

Cristina .... I am no expert, but I think the rust might be a problem.  If not done correctly and completely sealed, the ding may continue to rust.

Think of it like a tooth cavity.  If you just let it be, it gets bigger, and later you have to get a root canal.

But maybe some rubbing compound and paint to match.

eh, you are going to have to get rid of all the rust before you *fix* it.  How you are going to fix the ding will also influence what you can do with the rust.  If it's a small ding that you can pull out without making any holes in the body then you will just want to get rid of all the rust, then primer and paint the spot.  Kragen should have everything you need.

if its superficial rust, you can get by with some rubbing compound. use that on a cloth to remove rust. then do something about it. touch up pens? a spray of clear coat? all depends on situation and you comfort level with stuff.

I think "rusted ding" belongs on the "words that make you ggigle" thread
