I talked to this nice gal that I met on a personals site a few weeks ago.  Seems like we had a bit in common.  Anyway we had a meeting planned, and she canceled the day before.  I asked her straight out if she was still interested and she said yes.

Since then she's sent me a few "what's up" texts (she initiated).  Do I man-up and ask her out again, or is she just not that interested?

    Man up, ask her out.

My boyfriend and I had to cancel our first date like five times... two years later, we're glad we were both eventually able to schedule something, as neither of us can imagine living the rest of our lives without the other.

    If she's says she's still interested...then ask.

Why not, man? You only live life once! If things don't work out then you'll have more experience under your belt. So my advice is to sack it up and and ask her out...now!

Anyway, yeah, I just manned up and, said she wanted to get together next wkend.  She was super nice on the phone and sounded excited to hear from me.

No concrete plans but she told me to call her during the week.

Did you tell her you love her? Women love to hear that before the first date.

No but I asked her about the integrity of her child-bearing hips.

I would also work in the STD and mental illness questions no more than 5 minutes into the date. It's never too early to broach such issues.

Instead of bringing flowers on the first date, give her a copy of The Joy of Sex, Volume 2. You know, the one with the acrobatic and slightly illegal maneuvers.

LOL there was this one chick that I was talking to a few years back that brought up her suicide attempts and her parents' religious cult within 5 minutes of talking to me on the phone.

I almost wanted to still go on the date to find out the extent of how bat-shit-insane she actually was!

Dude- not only were you guaranteed to get laid on that date, but I'm sure she would have explored Joy of Sex, Volume 3 with you.

We've been together for two years now, John... we live together, may as well be married, and we're both well aware that the other is batshit-crazy. :D
