Looking for a not-too-hip, not-too-fancy women's clothing boutique

I'd like to buy a nice sweater as a gift for my wife.

I know that she likes hand-made clothing, and isn't a fan of high-price designer clothes.

Can anyone recommend a boutique in SF or the East Bay where I could find some nice, well-made, women's clothing. Bonus points if the sweaters are made with organic cotton.

I'm not looking for anyplace hip, just someplace with high quality clothing that isn't going to set me back more than $200.

    ^cute post

I was gonna say Dress Barn when I saw the thread title, but I see this is serious stuff.
Alex, I love how you make no apologies for your eyebrows.  Own it!
Me on the other hand am in need of some good threading.  Feeling a little like Bert.

  1. As annoying as the commercials are, Ambiance looks like it has some pretty cute stuff.

Yes, Miss V is right. Ambiance has some great stuff within a wide range of prices.

Unfortunately, Ambiance doesn't really show much on their site.

Anthropologie looks like it may be good. And the shop isn't too far from my office.

    Thanks again, all.

Clementine, the only apology I would make about my eyebrows is that they aren't quite as thick, long and luscious as I hope they will someday be.

May I suggest Kisha Studio, in the Inner Richmond district on 3rd Ave & Clement St.  They have a frequently updated website with pictures of new arrivals, knowledgeable customer service, and reasonable prices.  They are also on Yelp.  kishastudio.com
