    Pretty sure I have strep throat or something that needs antibiotics.... I used to have Kaiser and now I have blue cross. Where is a place I can just walk in, no appointment (since I dont have a regular doctor yet).

    I aw one on yelp in the castro... is that the only one???

    please help my throat is closing on itself!

    Check out UCSF Urgent Care over at 400 Parnassas. You'll have to walk in and get checked out by a nurse immediately and then he/she will give you a time to come back and see a doctor on the same day.  Remember to bring your Blue Cross card so they can charge you for an office visit.  They take same day appts only so if you get there early, I bet you can see the doctor right away.

    If you have an MD all ready picked out, call his/her office line and see if their answering service can suggest an urgent care clinic.  Of course, they may just say go to an emergency room or wait until the office opens tomorrow morning.

    I had a similar situation (I was with Kaiser up until last month and switched over to Blue Cross) and needed urgent care last night... it sucked having to look for a new doctor and what not.
