Is it just me or are most of the the motorcycle spots empty now that rates have gone to 70 cents an hour? I remember the spots on Spear being almost all taken by 9am.

Heck, I am parking in a garage as that is cheaper that street parking now.  Where are you all parking now that rates increased?

Is DPT making any money off motorcycles now?

I'm curious too!  The spots around the Embarcadero buildings are sparse where it used to be difficult to find an open spot.  I wonder if they're making less since they increased the rates by 140%, but less people are using the space, are they getting more money, or is it the same?  Lots of people just park on sidewalks or at the Ferry Building at the bike racks.  I rarely ride in now and just take MUNI, but miss riding in when the weather is nice.  I understand the need to raise rates, but the motorcycle parking got screwed compared to the car meter parking.  They should have raised the rates based on a percentage, not a flat fee.  I used to park at a garage for $90 a month, but it's now city owned.  If you don't leave by a certain time, you have to wait until the next day to leave.  What do we do??  I bought a scooter because of MUNI woes, but now it's over $6 a day to park vs. $4 round trip on MUNI or much less with a FAST Pass.

Well, thankfully there are usually broken meters around where I work so I seek those out.

However, I would have to guess the city is making waaay less money on the motorcycle spots now.
