I'm making my first attempt at putting in flooring, and I was wondering if anyone has any tips. I'm going to be floating it, most likely bamboo, it is click together kind. It's going over concrete.  Any hepful tips will be appreciated.

It will suck without 'underlayment' or (under) padding aka 'underlaying floor padding.'

Any way you spell it, you want padding between the concrete and the flooring.

    definately need underlayment
make sure WHOLE area is level for a quiter floor
lace them in staggering form.smal, big, small, big, etc

K, I knew about the underflooring, but the staggering is a good tip. They make it sound relatively easy, is it?

It's not too bad.  Good to have someone helping you though.

Make sure you only cut the ends that butt up to the wall. All the edges are factory edges and you will never cut them without leaving a gap. get the best padding you can afford.Read the instructions.

Have you checked out Alloc laminate flooring?  It's very durable and has aluminum edges that lock the seams together, so it does not look like crappy Tetris planks.  I have their maple finish in my kitchen.

I haven't, but I've checked a bunch out, I think it looks great, but I'm concerned on the feel. The floor will be used for things like yoga, pilates, etc, I want it to feel natural. Does yours? How do you think those kinds of activities would feel on it? I found a bamboo floor with tongue and groove, it's almost like laminate, right?
