Has anyone noticed how Muni's trolley buses make a high-pitched squeak as they go along? Does some part need a healthy dose of WD40?

Yes. All trolley buses are electric.

  1. There was actually a lawsuit over this when the new (at the time) trolly cars were installed in the late 90s.  A woman claimed that they squeeled too much for her taste and it was upsetting her.  Not sure of the outcome -- she probably won on the facts but lost because there's no legal claim in there.  Kind of like the guy who sued the church on Washington Square for making church bell noises.

    that's crazy. sue sue sue.

  2. Yes, this one takes the cake.  I always wondered who took that case.

  3. Oh, I was talking about the new ones that ride most of the lines, not the old ones that rumble down market and up the Embarcadero.  Those are cool but, sadly, proof that transportation technology is much better than it used to be.  Drafty, uncomfortable.

Has anyone noticed that those old style coin collectors don't actually count how much money you put in and the driver doesn't care?  Just leave what you want, like at a coffeehouse.
