I've seen dogs swimming in Lake Anza!  LouLou was not having it but it's a great place to kick it in the sun. . .
but here comes the bad news. . it's TOTALLY overcast here in Oakland today and it's almost noon. . .kind of chilly and it doesn't look like it will burn off until later this afternoon if at all.

Maybe head towards the south bay??  I don't know of anything that way though.

fyi - ended up going to monte rio on the russian river. vacation wonderland, as the sign says. they have dog friendly beaches. unfortunately, the beaches are pretty rocky and the pup is a bit sensitive on his feet in his old age and wasn't terribly happy about his poor paws walking on stones. but he did get to swim a bunch. now i just need to find wetsuit booties for dogs (in extra large) so we can go back there because it really was fun. and not crowded.

  1. I miss going to Ft Funston with the dogs....

We ended up renting a canoe in Healsburg for a half-day and going down the river with our two dogs. They aren't big on swimming but enjoyed the outing anyway and the water was great! riversedgekayakandcanoe.…
