They are real doctors at the emergency room, prescribe medicine, and you can see them as often as those who see their health care provider physicians. It is just much more expensive to seek emergency care at a hospital if you are sick with the flu, or whatever your ailment is.

When I pay for health care I just get it for insurance against a hospital bill that may wipe me out financially.  Most everyone can afford a visit to the doctor a few times a year when we are sick .People have health care policies to guard against financial disaster .....just like you insure your new car so you won't be out all that money if it is stolen, totaled, ect.

Yes, the emergency rooms in public hospitals can be a long wait, depends what hospital. The last time I used an emergency room was in Alabama, it took about 10 minutes to fill out the paperwork they handed me then I saw the doctor right away on a non-emergency. But that was a smaller city in Alabama. The hospitals can not refuse service, and if you go to the emergency room you do not have to pay up front for your visit. Some use the emergency rooms for free medical, they don't pay. They could go to the many walk in medical clinics or centers that need no appointment. But they would have to pay for their visit before they left the facility. Emergency rooms can be used if you need a doctor and it is 11pm at night, and you do not want to wait to see your doctor the next day, it will just cost you more.

I find that a lot of people who have problems with illegals have real anger and vitriol against often Hispanic immigrants in general, but definitely illegals.  Like it or not, a lot of shitty work gets done in this country and it gets done by immigrants from south of the border.  Note, I didn't say "all" so don't quote me all defensive like as though I said "you."
