    Grows hair!
    Makes you taller!

One of my sisters swears by them, but it'sway  too soon to tell.  Generally the only studies (and it's possible I'm wrong) published at this juncture are likely to sponsored by a distributor or ingredient-related manufacturor.  I think it's wrong to look at any one food as medicine and that your body is best off with a variety of healthy, tasty foods rather than cherry picking only foods identified as 'super foods'.

  1. Little dogs should not eat berries.  For dogs you can add "causes indigestion."

They are tasty, but I don't know about the hype...I enjoyed them in Rio years before they made it to the states...they've been part of the diet in Brazil for ages....

Shit, who the hell knows if anti-oxidants really exist?

I've had the drink once, but didn't find improved health really.  I think you have to drink it on a regular basis?  Does it really work?

  3. Actually, we eat mushed up bugs all the time.  Isn't that the source of one of the "natural" food colorings?

  4. (chickens, by the way, will eat mashed bugs but prefer them whole)

Well, I have been drinking blueberry juice for the past two years and I know it maintains my cuteness!!!
I am hoping the Acai will clear up the grey hair under my chin.
Just had half a bottle of the Acai and Blueberry that NAKED makes.
Tastes good but probably because of the sugar.

You are supposed to eat it on a regular to semi-reg basis like you would other healthy fruits and veggies. I've been eating Acai for years and do believe there are benefits. Are they extrodinary - not sure. But it surely gives me good clean energy, is the strongest natural antioxidant and loaded with fiber. So all around good stuff and to me it tastes great - mix of blueberries and chocolate.

Ohh and like blueberries it's supposed to improve short-term memory loss, which it may actually do. That could be because of other things I do less these days, but he.

    Acia Berries also:

    - Give you the ability to fly
    - Enlarges your penis / clitoris
    - Gives you +12 to all attacks against orcs
    - Makes you invulnerable to bullets
    - Will get you laid
    - Allows you to turn into this thing - monstersinmotion.us/pred…
    - Cures depression, schitzophrenia, and psychois
    - Will make you popular with your friends
    - New Mazda Miata on the horizon? -- I think so!
    - Cleans up your apartment

In other words, just about every product claims that it can do all sort of miraculous things. Even organic products.

    Don't believe the hype.

  5. There's always an antioxidant du jour.  I think it's pretty well accepted not only by health nuts and wishful thinkers, but also mainstream nutritionists and medical researchers that increasing your consumption of antioxidants is a good thing, and it's best not to overdo the foods with lots of free radicals (e.g. alcohol, charred red meat, etc).  Too many free radicals has been shown to cause Alzheimer's, heart disease, cancer, wrinkly skin (that makes you look old).  It causes many different kinds of serious aging issues because over time free radicals damage cells beyond their ability to repair themselves.

It only stands to reason that consuming antioxidants, which are shown to reduce free radicals in the body, will tend to reduce the severity or likelihood of these various conditions.  The science is not 100% solid right now but there are a lot of studies coming in, and there are plenty of benefits to a good diet beyond just the free radical issue, so why not?

Ounce for ounce, the best ones are blueberries, strawberries, cranberries, and I guess acai.  But most of these berries you don't eat straight.  Has anyone ever had straight cranberry juice?  You have to dilute and sweeten it.  I guess you can eat strawberries and definitely blueberries straight but to get a significant quantity is awfully expensive.

There are lots of sources of antioxidants - bell peppers, dark leafy vegetable, eggplants, beets, walnuts, ginger, pomegranate, beans, artichokes, russet potatoes, apples, cherries, plums, are some of the better ones.  Most anything with heavy natural pigments.  It's probably best just to get a lot of fruits and vegetables overall in your diet overall than to think that adding a single source of antioxidant.  Vitamins A, C, and E have antioxidant properties so you can take supplements or seek foods high in those.  Having said that, if you like acai or cranberry juice, other than all the sugar what's the harm?

So bottom line, yes, acai berries are very healthy to eat.  But so are a lot of different foods.  Whatever floats your boat.
