I need help, I have a 2004 Saab 9-3 and my battery won't even jump anymore... I tried Costco but they don't seem to carry the battery. Where else do you get quality batteries with actually useful warranties? I'm taking all suggestions short of Craigslist Lol. Also my car is stuck somewhere it may get a ticket... Should I just settle for AAA mobile battery replacement?

You just abandon your car somewhere and you have AAA?

(Exactly) Call AAA. That's why you pay those fools.

PS. I find awesome parts on EBAY. Just got top notch brakes, rotors, and shocks for my Escalade.

I just ordered a battery for my truck (which is also a hard one to find) online last night, got a code to save 20% for ordering online, then went and picked it up in the store; all within a half hour.

Linear. By abandoned, I mean right in front of my house (parking permit required which I don't have). My friends have not received great batteries from AAA but that was years ago, maybe they're better now?

Thanks Brian, researching those brands now. Duralast is all autozone carries for my car, so I'll skip that one  but Napa seems to have a good one for $150

Batteries go bad and 3-5 years is pushing it for most.

It is probably a European size  46, 48 or 49  replaced by  H6 H7 or H9 now.   Costco buys batteries from one of the big US mfg, but they don't seem to make the European ones.  Other stores like  Autozone  buys from several mfg and so the quality may vary. but the Duralast sells a good 49 battery.  Walmart actually sell a good ones too, the mfg is Douglas.   You have AAA so the Warranty is not much value.  If you want more reliability look at AGM  technology if your car can use it.

More info: I bought a $150 battery from O'Reilly Auto parts just under 3 years ago (34 months). The battery had a 3 year warranty and went bad just 2 months prior to the warranty expiration date (34 months) and I figured at best they might pro rate the warranty as companies have always done in the past and give me a few bucks off a new battery. I was shocked when they gave me an entirely new battery with a brand new 36 month warranty at no charge.  I didn't even have my receipt from 3 years ago, they were able to find the purchase in their computer system. stoked. I'm not the type of customer that is overly loyal, but I know where I'm getting my car batteries from now on -- until they change this generous policy.

Yes Bryan is correct.   The statement you made "my battery won't jump" is incorrect.  Your car won't jump start or the battery won't recharge.   We all assumed you just needed a battery but the real answer is you need to do more evaluation on what is wrong.  Alternator,  battery?  there is not enough information.

  1. AAA does guarantee the life of their batteries and they'll come to you and replace it. I was very happy with the service.

Yes AAA is the bomb!!! Service always good.  I actually didn't know about the battery guarantee or maybe I just forgot since they give their customers so many bennies

Might be more than your battery if the sucker is comletly drained.

  2. Try to avoid attempts at starting your car with a weak/dead battery.  You could kill your starter and it's not good for the rest of the motor either.
