After an unfortunate altercation which i wish not explain the details, i am now looking for a good ICBC approved body shop.  i don't really care where in the city (E.van, Van, Bby, etc), i just want the work to be quality and maybe a place that isn't scared to replace parts (eg. hood).

    Thanks for any help.

    icbc.com/claims/find_rep…

I recently was hit and run (grr!) and the adjuster said pretty much any repair shop on the ICBC accredited list would be good (if you're claiming via ICBC, the work is guaranteed for life through ICBC and the shop).  Personally, I'm taking mine to AK Autoworks in Burnaby as it's close to my house and I've heard various recommendations from people in the sport compact world.

    Good luck.

If ICBC is paying, why not bring it to the dealer?  Most dealers offer repair service where you drop it with them and they deal with the shop.  They have relationships with shops and will stand behind the work as a second layer if something goes wrong with it.  Also slightly more likely to get original parts.....

I second what Marc said. Someone tried to pick the lock of my vehicle a few days ago and ended up destroying the  mechanism as well as scratching the painted handle. I went to my dealer for assistance and they have their affiliated ICBC-certified body repair shop to help me out.

They couldn't get in the car and didn't end up breaking my windows because I have tint on all four side windows. I guess that pissed them off cos one of my tires were also punctured with two nails on opposing sides.

It's all good. What can you do. Shit happens. Life goes on.

I had a similar situation just the other month, and usually the dealer sends it to a repair shop anyways.  I had really awesome service at Fraserview Collision fraserviewcollision.com which is an ICBC certified repair shop.  They replaced everything that could be replaced.  My car came back looking like new where the damage had been, and they were great with the loaner vehicle.  The repairs took the amount of time they said they would (1 week, as some parts had to be ordered) and I was kept informed.

I was recommended to Fraserview by a guy who buys and sells cars in my office building.  He deals with them frequently and I wasn't disappointed.

Good luck, and sorry to hear about the damage.
