    Hi Yelpers!

A few friends and I will be travelling from Minneapolis for the Lululemon SeaWheeze Half Marathon from Wednesday, Aug 7 through Sunday, Aug 11. First of all- we CANNOT wait. Have heard so many good things about Vancouver and can't wait to check out as much as possible.

With that said- does anyone have some must-do's? We will be staying in downtown but have no problem exploring all over the city. Some things we are a fan of:
    1. Delicious restaurants. Hit me with any type of cuisine and I'll try it. Let us know if a place will probably need a reservation!
    2. Working out! Crossfit, yoga, any crazy classes/activities?
    3. The outdoors- hiking, walking, etc. Also, who doesn't like a good patio.
    4. Cool bars. Since we will be running the race on Saturday, probably nothing too crazy- something casual and fun.

With that said, the race staff also sent out a bunch of things to do to help jog your brain (no pun intended...). Here's some stuff they suggested (linked here: seawheeze.com/wp-content…)
Outdoorsy stuff: bike rentals at Spokes or Endless Biking, kayaking at Deep Cove Kayak, Kits Beach, Stanley Park, Spanish Banks, Grouse Grind, Quarry Rock, or The Stawamus Chief for hiking.
Working out: Cadence for spin classes, Stand Up Paddle Vancouver for paddle yoga, Yyoga or One Yoga for the People for yoga
Restaurants: Wildebeest, Chambar, Bao Bei, Meat and Bread, Edible Canada, Catch 122, Heirloom Restaurant, Chewies Steam and Oyster Bar
Patios: The Mill, The Local, Reflections, Cactus Club, Black + Blue

Thanks a lot! Any other special events going on that weekend are also appreciated!

Sam- thanks for the helpful link! That's pretty much exactly what I needed (should probably have dug around a little more...)

Dave- unfortunately we won't have a car- and these are just suggestions I got from the Lululemon guide. Looking at some of the restaurants and activities they provided through Yelp is making me question about half of them...

Yelp makes me question a lot of things.

My favorite restaurants in town are all vegetarian - but hands down and by far Banditas on Commercial drive - you can get there by sky train REALLY easily, and it's right near the commercial/broadway station.

    Hey Matt,
I was going to write a post here for advice for places to go until I saw yours. I will be visiting vancouver around the same time you guys will be there. Other things I've found that look interesting: Stanley park, capilano suspension bridge, grause mountain, Granville island...just a few things we'll check out while we're there. Would like more recommendations for restaurants though for seafood, Thai, pubs, etc...

    Good luck on your race!

Use yelp to explore the restaurants. And use a GPS app to get you there, for example "waze". If you like hiking, you should go to the capilano suspension bridge and Grouse mountain.

    Thank you everyone!

Thalia- one of our friends is really into sustainable eating, and from Yelping, Banditas sounds awesome.

Janette- thank you! From the looks of all that stuff, it all sounds awesome.

Lam- thanks for the app advice!
