So I went to pink elephant ate a few things, waited three hours for twilight, then Left thirty minutes before it started. Was so sick last night can barely move. Afraid to eat now. Might try to get out to buy something. I am so tired and even hungry. Just made lemon water. I thought of making an egg. Ideas? I feel like I fought a war. I have no fruit and I hate natural ginger ale. I know Canada dry is garbage. What about Gatorade?
So I'm writing on yelp to avoid anything. Lol. It did not end until five am. Thx in advance. ;) I wish there was a way to make myself invisible so I could go shopping looking like a homeless person. Not a good idea. ;) not blaming the restaurant but it was probably the worst Thai I'd ever eaten--that was before I got sick, too.

Warm up hot water, add a spoon of honey and a few slices of lemon...it will make your stomach feel much better and it's delicious!

Oh noes JN. I have no advice, but hang in there! I'm sure it will pass quickly.

Make a "tea" of ginger and perhaps a touch of turmeric.
Slice the ginger thinly and beat it with a knife, and then add it to some water and boil it on the stove for a while. 10+ minutes maybe. Add some sugar or honey to a cup if you think you'll prefer it to be sweet, and a dash of ground turmeric if you have it. More than a dash if you can handle the flavor.

Nice bowl of hot congee always makes me feel happy. Also a hot cup of water with honey too.

Thx all not out of bed yet and usually up at six. I'm at the comatose stage where I can barely move but I do have toast! I will try to see if I have ginger but chopping anything right now seems impossible. ;) so no ginger ale even if I can get out? Everyone make sure to wash their hands (haven't been sick like this in a year or more I'd say) and don't eat at pink e. at least I won't be craving any type of Thai for a long while....

Hope you're already feeling better, good suggestions here!

What works well to soothen the lining of the organs is soft, smooth stuff anything without flavour or spices. Dry toast, only lightly toasted, with warm camomilla tea, no sugar. For the same effect you maya try a thin oatmeal soup, again neither sugar not salt, just water and oats cooked lightly, eaten slowly.

Take it easy. All the best.

Experienced Mommy here. BRAT diet - bananas, rice, applesauce & toast. Stay hydrated - dilute apple juice, weak tea, electrolyte drinks like Gatorade.

I hope you feel better soon!

chicken soup, congee, or ramen here too...  and I always put a lot of ginger in there too...  prefer fresh, but I'll use powdered if that's all I have too.  Ginger and stomachs go so well together.

My hangover favourite is the Farmers Fritatta (Omelette) at Tom & Jerrys on E. Hastings.  Just a good hearty breakfast in general, no matter the time of day.

If you have a GI Bug (what my son seems to currently be dealing with).. Not much will stay down.  Start with clear fluids and see if that stays down and then move your way up.  I would try relatively simple bland stuff first.
    Get better soon!

I generally go with a couple of poached eggs on plain toast, then take it from there...Alternatively, if eggs aren't working out, Start with some chicken broth then add to it as you see fit...noodles, veggies....A little late to the party, I guess...but that's how I do sick...

had organic tomato soup with whole wheat premium plus  and i splurged on ginger ale (real ginger--yeah right) at safeway. they had no skim milk. what kind of grocery store is without skim milk? anyway, only went there as I had a gc.

These responses were great, so thx. craig. :)

I can't believe that I'm stuffed. Maybe it was all a sign of too much overdoing it last week? :)

  1. When  your body is trying to expel toxins, it's good to avoid all acidic foods, sugars, dairy, salt.
I agree with Craig, chicken broth, eggs, plain toast.
I boil white rice into a porridge and my body feels really good after, if you add chicken you'll get the protein you need too.

Clearly sounds like food poisoning to me. Poor you. Glad you were able to eat soup and crackers.

Sleep as much as possible, keep up the fluids, warm water with a bit of lemon or a little potassium carbonate. Eat very lightly, bland food. Bathe in epsom salts. Repeat.

    Hugs JN

Yup.  Those pesky GI bugs.  Easily transmitted through hand and mouth.  Glad you're feeling better!  And if you need a super easy recipe for pho.. Let me know.  I mean.. Super easy.  :)

Hey JN!  Hope you'd be feeling a lot better by now.

My picks:  hot lemon honey, hot ginger tea, and congee.  No dairy, nothing acidic, greasy or cold.  Yes, very Chinese but it works without fail everytime ;0)

Many docs prescribe the BRAT diet for post nausea or diarrhea recovery. Miso soup is very gentle to your stomach, and is loaded with good little microbes that your intestinal tract needs to get healthy again after you've been sick.
Anything that helps restore electrolytes and hydration is good... drinking coffee while breakdancing would be bad.

Maybe it was Twilight that made you sick Haha!! I'm gonna agree with the ginger tea, I had food poisoning when I was in China last year for like three days, and its the only thing that cured me, even Pepto didn't help! Toast is also good when your stomach settles and you can eat small bits at a time and see if your body has decided to start digesting again. Feel better!
