    Hi hi,

So, I know some folks find them questionable, but I loooooove me a good salad bar. And sadly, it seems the salad bar is going the way of the Betamax (for you whippersnappers, that was like an old VC...um, I mean DVD...um...well, there didn't used to be DVRs, ok?). So my question is, what restaurants in Victoria still have salad bars? And are they any good?

I am already aware of the existence of Salad Loop, and am planning to try it, but hear it's pricey...I really just want a good ol' fashioned restaurant with a salad bar.

Salad Loop is so, SO worth it. It's really not too terribly expensive, and the range of items you've got to choose from is fantastic. Other than the salad bar at the cafe on the top floor of the Bay, I don't know of any other ones in town.

Wait, The Bay has a cafe and it has a salad bar?! Doesn't the Keg on Quadra have, or had a salad bar? The Bay? Really?

The salad Loop is good. Not too expensive either, depending on what you're spooning up.. Not organic though. But they are clean in there. Maybe take your own container, otherwise your salad will fall all over the place in the ones they provide. Not the most dynamic selection, but I always loaded up on raw spinach, olives, chives, garbanzos, seeds and the like. They also have a fruit bar.. but fruit is heavy, man!   Green cuisine is good for the organic element. Plus, you can create a more interesting plate with their other goods down the line.. but don't go at lunch rush.. yikes!
