Played hockey here back in 02 when I was in high school now playing league now. Fees are Farley good and good atmosphere. Everyone is friendly as they help my mom to find seating and have clinics on sat for kids and adults who want to learn to play roller hockey . I wish they had kid leagues but hopefully they will get enough kids to come play .

It is places like this that keep Amazon in business. Today I went in to purchase a helmet. I had a question about a helmet so I waited in like to be helped. When my turn came, i was told that someone would be right over. I went back and waited for some one to come .
The person came over and informed me that someone else would have to help me. He was going to go and eat. It turns out that the hungry employee was the manager. The other employees said they were busy and I would have to wait.
I ended up driving to Antioch to purchase a hockey helmet.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Samuel B.Antioch, Vereinigte Staaten4519531318. Jan. 2020
THE place to buy hockey stuff. Zero doubt. They have everything. Definitely come here for your hockey needs. I have equipment I bought here 10 years ago that I still use. They can get busy sometimes, which might mean waiting around for an employee to assist you, but since this is the only legit hockey store around, demand is high.

The rink is actually falling a part. They are literally taping down the tiles before games. It's getting dangerous. ( And we are paying full price for this. )
Not to mention that the quality of reffing is spotty.
I've been playing here for several years. 2-3 days a week. And this will probably be my last season.
I'm now paying close to the same to play Hockey at clean well maintained rink in San Jose.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Christine T.Sacramento, Vereinigte Staaten106668016. Feb. 2014
This place is SO MUCH FUN! And they have leagues for just about anyone; kids, adults, co-ed, beginners, intermediate.. Everyone is really nice and welcoming- no matter what level of skill you are at, if you love hockey you're already family :)
They have super affordable open-skate sessions, which they can provide all the necessary gear if needed. They serve typical concession food, beer, wine, and if you don't like any of it- get In N' Out from across the street and chow down while you watch locals play.
It's a totally different vibe than, say, Sportsplex or those other big facilities-- People want to talk and get to know you, there's a real community at Dry Ice :) Come by! (You'll probably see me sitting and watching games, or falling on my butt on the "ice" cuz--- well, I tend to do that!)Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jesse C.Kenosha, Vereinigte Staaten121643624. I'm a novice inline skater but my first outing was a blast! I'm trying out the adult beginner clinics in Saturday's. Be sure to call the day before and confirm the scheduled times as they are going through a website transition. Be sure to bring your own inline puck for the open skates.
I can't wait to go back!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jared W.Oakland, Vereinigte Staaten1121581421. Mai 2007
I just couldn't get into playing here. Hockey smell doesn't bother me, it is a part of the game. However the ridges in the floor and the dirt my wheels picked up did irritate me. The lights are not as bright as I would like as well. I'd complain about the reffing, but that's a universal hockey complaint.
The atmosphere was more about hockey (how often do you see someone skate out of the penalty box to go after someone in the bar), but in my opinion, it was not enough to overcome the poor quality of the skating surface.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - J N.Oakland, Vereinigte Staaten15429. I've been playing on and off at Dry Ice easily more than a decade. I'd say my experiences are 95% positive.
For myself, people are a big deal. Ultimately, I've found that the players at Dry Ice are generally nice people. It helps to get to know them, which makes the games more fun and yet, still competitive. Yeah, I've run into peeps who think they're playing the seventh game of the Stanley Cup Finals, but you're gonna get that at any rink. And, fair is fair, I've been the jackass as well. I'm not trying to justify it, but sometimes it just happens in the heat of the moment. Overall, it's a good crowd there.
I've also found that the refs here are willing to listen to you if you don't shout at them. They may not change their mind on a call (I've never, ever seen a ref change his/her mind on a call), but if you practice a bit of restraint, you can say what's on your mind and they'll listen. Hell, if you play your cards right, you might even get a makeup call out of it later on down the road.
Dry Ice recently installed a new surface which I like much more than the previous one. My wheels and bearings don't get nearly as dirty as before. I used to have to wipe them down right after a game. The new surface is supposed to be faster, but I'm a slow skater and I probably won't be testing any speed limits anytime soon, so you'll have to judge that for yourself.
The league I'm in is run fairly efficiently. Of course, there are mixups and/or scheduling conflicts, but the staff are very approachable and reasonable. For example, more than half of our team was missing for one particular game, but everyone talked it out and agreed to postpone until the following week. No problem.
Bottom line is that this is a hockey-first rink run by real people and hockey players, not a corporation, most of whom play there as well. I wouldn't have a problem sending anyone there, whether they're beginner, casual or hardcore players.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Andi T.Philadelphia, Vereinigte Staaten40710843281. I'm not a skater, but give me a beer and a seat on the sidelines of the Bay Area Derby (BAD) Girls anytime! Seems like the place is well run and has the amenities you'd want for skating. As a venue for a crowded event, it held up well. There's plenty of street parking within a few blocks of the place. There was a good selection of beer and snacks, although the line for the 3 ladies' bathroom stalls was crazy long.
UPDATE 3/07: The Fire Marshall has closed the Dry Ice arena, saying it was structurally unsound. This, a mere 2 days before the BAD Girls bout. Boo!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Sandra B.Los Angeles, Vereinigte Staaten19656319. Jan. 2016
Dry Ice offers a variety of inline hockey leagues, learn to skate programs for adults and youth programs. We brought our son here for the first time about 8 months ago and we've been regulars (twice a week) ever since. Initially we used the free equipment that is provided but quickly got our own gear as we could tell our son had found his sporting passion. In addition the youth lessons are free! It's the best bargain in the Bay. All kids should try it out. I encourage everyone to come out and visit. They have a great viewing area with a bar that serves some wonderful local brews as well as a variety of hot and cold snacks.
