When you ask a Vancouverite what their favourite brewery or favourite Olympic Village brewery is, you'll often hear "Brassneck Brewery." It has definitely been one of the breweries to reach out to many palletes without getting too quirky.
Their tap list is always changing but they bring back their staple beers on rotation. You can check out some of them on the wall in the back plastered with black and white posters.
The space is rustic and prior to Covid if the wait was long, you could buy some tasters in the tasting room.
They have a decent size "appy" menu - think breads, spreads, meats and sweets to pair perfectly with the beers.
If you're visiting Vancouver and love craft beer, Brassneck is definitely a must.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 11683924 sep. 2023
Really great beers - had fun with a flight, and nice generous pours. The chips and ranch dressing were awesome! Would love to come back for more food next time.

Check out the beer list online before stopping by to make sure there's a few beer you'll like before stopping by. I only saw one beer I might enjoy and unfortunately, my gamble did not pay off.
I ordered the Killjoy, the only stout on the menu, and it wasn't a very enjoyable beer to drink. Flavors were definitely on the muted-side. In hindsight, Killjoy is the perfect name for this beer. Don't be like me and commit to a large 16oz pour until you try a taster size of it first.
On the food side, I ordered some focaccia to snack on. As a bread fanatic, if there's bread on a menu, I will 100% order it. While the serving of focaccia was quite generous, it was not the fluffiest focaccia I've ever had. The focaccia also would've benefited greatly from some flaky sea salt sprinkled on top.
At the end of the day, I fault myself for not enjoying Brassneck. I should've done my due diligence on checking out the beer menu prior to stopping by.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 16 dec. 2020
Price/quality (4/4): The beer here is some of the best in Vancouver. I came here one afternoon and I sampled a number of their beers. All of them were great, and some of them (e.g. the raspberry sour) were particularly impressive.
Service (1/1): Service was friendly and efficient. They also answered my questions very well.
Would I come here again: YesHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - 10 nov. 2021
ordered 2 flights to share between 4 people. it took a while to get seated because there were several groups working on their laptops at the bigger tables unfortunately, but once we were seated the service was fine.
flight #1
xenomorph - very interesting, taster is enough just to try
passive - really good solid choice, well balanced
biere de quaff - like it a lot more than expected, reminded of the breadiness of beer
small wonder - very sweet and light, doesn't overpower anything
flight #2
peel sessions - depending on who you are it could really nice or disappointing LOL a typical hazy
die frische w sterling - a regular pilsner
die frische w saaz - a better version of the sterling with more hops
brassneck x luppolo - really enjoyed all the cocoa and nutty notes in this one but it was very heavyHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - 917054815 feb. 2021
My husband and I were looking to restock our beer supply, so we thought we'd check it out on a mid-February afternoon.
The staff are very cheerful and super friendly, and while there are a lot of partitions up, it was surprisingly busy for a midweek afternoon, and you could tell it's a popular spot for young people to meet friends.
While the beer selection available was great, we were both largely underwhelmed by the beer unfortunately, so after our taste test, we didn't feel compelled to buy any to take home.
The snacks were decent, but I don't recommend making a meal of it. Overall, it was a fun spot to check out, and I'm happy to see a place that is seemingly doing well during this difficult time. Oh, and it is largely full of millennials, so we we were definitely the "Mom & Dad" in the corner lol.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ka L.VA, USA7589420 juni 2022
Got a flight to do some casual photography work before heading to dinner with friends. Got all the IPA and hoppy beers. Generally, fantastic balance. Also really enjoyed the lagger. Definitely a place to try if you are in Vancouver and beer. Excellent recommendations by staff and friendly service!

Brassneck is a western themed brewery.
Super crowded on weekends. The wait for the main room was over 30 minutes. We ordered at the bar and drank there.
Service was ok.
Dilettante, 473 ml - 4.50 CAD - For a fruit beer, the fruitiness was lacking. Did get a little hint of sour.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - 3 dec. 2018
Finally made it out to Brassneck Brewery after a quick pit stop at Cartems Donuterie next door. I've been to quite a few breweries; heard nothing but good things about BB.
We dropped in on a Sunday afternoon (around 1:30pm) and the place was bumping. We had to stand for a bit before some seats opened up. The seating is tight as only the back has seats. The front is standing room only. Know what's hilarious? First time I've been ID'ed entering a brewery. Oddly enough, only I was checked but not my friend.
The decor in the back is cool as the wallpaper is a mix of their old flavours (Tizz wozz experimental sour sounds intriguing). The front has cans for sale along with growler refills and some merchandise (spotted t-shirts, hats and toques).
There were 9 flavours on tap. We took our time deciding; they also have some snacks available (taro chips & dip, sausages from Oyama Sausage Co., pretzels, baguette and loaves from Beyond Bread). There was also "fancy" fizzy pops for the non-drinkers from Phillips Soda Works.
- Brassbat ($8.00) - we tried once-ler (farmhouse S.M.A.S.H.), sticks n stones (rye saison), bjorn again (farmhouse ale) and magic beans (coffee beer). Interesting that they write the labels in pencil; we guessed they must re-use them again. Our favourite was the once-ler; easy, tasty drinking. The coffee beer was interesting but a sampler was enough.
Another solid brewery in town. Even though they didn't have any beers that we took a particular liking to, they still impressed us with their beers. I'll be back again for the chill vibes.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 7 okt. 2017
Great little brewery...laidback environment, tasty beer. This was our first stop on a weekend trip to Vancouver and the perfect place to take a break and enjoy some good beer. Recommend to try the flight and experience a few different types of beer - the Main Squeeze was my personal favorite, the Passive Aggressive was a pretty standard IPA, while tasty, I'd suggest trying something new in its place.
Would recommend not passing up if in the area.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
