Benoit Carry in 2017

Hi, I am Benoit Carry, a planetary scientist working at the Lagrange laboratory of the Observatoire de la Côte d'Azur (OCA) and the Institut de Mécanique Céleste et de Calcul des Éphémérides (IMCCE), Paris Observatory. I study the small bodies of our solar system, remnants of the early stages of planetary formation. I am in particular interested in binary systems, small body density, and surface composition. I am involved in many observing programs on small and large telescopes.

I am a CNAP assistant astronomer, and my activities encompass research, teaching, outreach actions, and community services.

In 2012, the asteroid (8467) of provisional designation 1981 ES35 has been named in my honour (many many thanks to Bobby Bus and Rick Binzel). You can find informations on asteroid (8467) BenoitCarry using SsODNet.

In 2017, I was awarded the Young Researcher Prize of the French Astronomical and Astrophysical Society (SF2A).
