CEUMC in Central African Republic The Chairman of the EU Military Committee (CEUMC), General Mikhail Kostarakos, visited the EU Military Advisory Mission (EUMAM RCA) in Central African Republic (CAR) over the weekend of 8 to 10 January 2016.

EU-CAR IT Project receives assistance from EUMAM RCA Bangui, Central African Republic. On 23 September in the Department of Defense, took place the first handover of computers to the Central African Armed Forces (FACA) within the project "Support to the Ministry of Defense". The project is funded by the EU under the "instrument contributing to stability and peace" (IcSP) which is coordinated by EUMAM. The goal is to strengthen the management and administrative capacity of the Ministry of Defense (MoD) and to assist it in its task to establish the FACA as a professional army under democratic control.

On the 16 March 2015 the Council has launched the EU's military advisory mission in the Central African Republic (EUMAM RCA), which it established on 19 January 2015. It sets out to support the Central African authorities in preparing areform of the security sectorwith respect to the armed forces of the Central African Republic (FACA).

The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini, said: "The EU continues its comprehensive support for stability and security in the Central African Republic. EU experts will now support preparations for security sector reform. This will help the Central Africa Republic turn the corner after this security crisis."
