Why did I receive a Notice to Apply for Title?
The sale of your motor vehicle, cycle, trailer, all-terrain vehicle (ATV), watercraft or outboard motor indicated on the notice was reported to the Department by the previous owner, the dealer you purchased it from or the lienholder who financed the unit. The Motor Vehicle Bureau records indicate you need to take action now
(even if you no longer own the motor vehicle, cycle, trailer, ATV, watercraft or outboard motor).
Missouri law requires a purchaser to apply for title within 30 days from the date of purchase on motor vehicles, cycles, trailers, and ATVs and within 60 days on watercraft and outboard motors.
