Thanks for contacting us!

Body Language Studio primarily serves youth in the Renton, Bellevue, and Issaquah areas, from preschool to high school, by providing them with a safe, inclusive space to learn, grow, create, and express through dance. We believe that "dance is a universal language," giving everyone a voice, and we promote cultural diversity, inclusion, and acceptance of all people and body types. Our core values are education, JOY, growth mindset, and excellence. Our competitive youth performing group participates in community showcases and competes on a regional and national level. We also produce dance events, such as breaking battles and a full-length Nutcracker. We are the home of Massive Break Challenge and the only Championship Training Program for youth breaking (break dancing) in the PNW, led by members of Massive Monkees.

Despite her Venezuelan roots, Raquel fell in love with Polynesian cultures at age 12. In 2010, she met Sandi Stevens, founder of Ohana Arts, who inspired her to embrace Hula. Trained as a professional Hula performer in Florida, Raquel began teaching keiki (children) at Ohana Arts, nurturing her passion for imparting the art of Aloha through song, dance, and music. She has performed with top companies in South Florida, leading productions like PBS Kids, Hollywood's "Dragons and Drums," and Miami Gardens' Mango Festival. Now married with three daughters, Raquel cherishes sharing the stage with her husband and looks forward to performing as a family, always carrying and sharing the spirit of Aloha with her community.
