Joe Alaskey Dead: Bugs Bunny voice actor dies at 63

Joe Alaskey, who has given voice to some of the most beloved Looney Tunes, has died of cancer, his spokesperson confirms. He was 63.

Alaskey was one of the voice actors to inherit the roles of Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck from Mel Blanc, voicing the character during the 2000s, most notably in the live action/CGI film Looney Tunes: Back in Action. He has also at times provided the voices for Sylvester, Tweety, and other Looney Tunes, while also serving as the primary voice for Plucky Duck on Tiny Toon Adventures, and Yosemite Sam in Who Framed Roger Rabbit? Alaskey also voiced the titular character in Duck Dodgers, for which he won a Daytime Emmy Award.

Outside of the Looney Tunes universe, Alaskey also inherited the role of Lou Pickles on Rugrats, provided the voice for RIchard Nixon in Forrest Gump, and narrated the Investigation Discovery Network series Murder Comes to Town.

A spokesperson for Alaskey requested privacy for Alaskey’s family, directing fans to a Facebook page for when more public information is made available.
