Automobiles are one of the primary sources of CO2 released into the atmosphere. When a company utilizes recycled pallets in its supply chain, it is the equivalent of removing a vehicle from the road. Those vehicle emissions are no longer released into the atmosphere to cause global warming. That’s a lot of vehicles taken off the road. |

Carbon is naturally stored in woody material. This is called carbon sequestration. Reusing wood pallets means that carbon stays sequestered and does not get released into the atmosphere because of landfilling the pallet. A large volume of pallet recycling equals a significant amount of CO2 saved from being emitted into the environment. |

When a pallet is recycled and reused that means a newly manufactured pallet doesn’t have to be replaced in the supply chain. Pallets can complete their trip through the supply chain, be repaired, then reused again until the end of their lifecycle. This means that trees do not get harvested for use in building new pallets thereby preserving more forestland. |
