Jason Bailey Flavorwire I wish it had either been much better or much worse. May 28, 2016 Full Review Joe Morgenstern Wall Street Journal Fifty Shades of Grey delivers, however ponderously, on its promise of pop transgressiveness. Dec 30, 2015 Full Review Alex Abad-Santos Vox This alien quality is what makes Dornan so effective as Christian. Rated: 3/5 Oct 14, 2015 Full Review Rita Di Santo Daily Mirror (UK) As dodgy, ludicrous and funny, as the film might be, as a public spectacle it’s probably not as embarrassing as being seen reading the book Rated: 3/5 Aug 22, 2024 Full Review Brian Eggert Deep Focus Review Here's a film that is offensive only in how inoffensive it proves to be. james c fandango is the worst possible company I've ever dealt with. fandango really sucks. I will be deleting my fandango app. never use this junk app. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/02/22 Full Review Lorenzo G so weird, not a family movie at all. I shouldn't have taken my kids to watch it Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/02/24 Full Review Audience Member This is movie is messed up and I'll give it just one star since maybe at least some messed up people can actually enjoy this film, it has at least SOME audience appeal. And for the record, I have no issues with BDSM or people participating in it, that's not the most screwed up thing I'm talking about! Beyond that, from a non soft and hard-core porn lens and movie-making lens, this STINKS! This main character has no appeal at all and I feel so sorry for her. She's as mentally ill as the man taking advantage of her and manipulating her, who is also a horrible character and human being overall. In fact, he COERCES her and she falls for it each step of the way! He's sick and amoral and she's just plain sad and pathetic with barely any self-esteem except maybe a little at the very end. I cannot empathize with either character which makes it non-investable and the script is god-awful too! Barely ANY redeeming qualities. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 08/25/24 Full Review Erin D After reading the book there should be more of a power struggle with both of the main characters. I feel like Dakota played the part well, however Jamie seemed a lot softer than the Christian in the book, also the movie has really cut short the amount of sexual tension between them, pg ed it up. Feeling like Jamie wasn't really right for the part. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 08/07/24 Full Review Jase C this movie is the worst movie i have ever seen.... the plot was great, but the people who wrote the script did NOT and i mean NOT make sure that the people who spent 2 hours of their lives to watch this movie would enjoy the horrible ending it had. -1/10 i would never EVER suggest someone to watch this gross film ever in my life (i miss my ex) Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 07/09/24 Full Review Eun P Satisfactory without being special. Wasn't ever going to live up to the books but nice enough to pass the time away with. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/04/24 Full Review Read all reviews
