Welcome to the Talcott Mountain Science Center & Academy, where students in grades K-8 embark on a thrilling journey of discovery and learning! Let us nurture your child’s passion for science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) through hands-on learning in one or more of the following programs:
Talcott Mountain Academy — Where K-8 gifted and talented students thrive in a fun, challenging and supportive environment. With a full curriculum, differentiated instruction, and passionate teaching staff, students learn to ask questions, find answers, and unlock their full potential.
STEM Programs at Talcott Mountain — Encourage learning year-round with Talcott’s Summer of STEM Adventures, and Saturday & School Vacation programs for students in grades K-8. Talcott’s carefully crafted programs spark your child’s innate sense of curiosity with hands-on experiments and creative learning inspired by science and our mountaintop campus. As a result, they’re fully engaged in the learning process which helps them develop their teamwork, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Ultimately, children realize that learning is fun, and they develop a love of learning that lasts a lifetime. As summer comes to a close, we are grateful for the incredible support we`ve received from you and our community this past year. By working together, we`ve been able to create programs that have helped students take their first steps into coding, discovering the mysteries of nature, exploring the universe, leveraging technology to create art and more. All of this inspires them and fosters their passion for science, technology, engineering, the arts, and mathematics (STEAM).
As we approach the end of our fiscal year, we have an exciting opportunity to support and grow these life-changing programsβbut we need your help! Now through August 31, all donations will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $50,000 — thanks to a very generous matching gift from Frank Hursey, Secretary of TMSCA`s Board of Trustees.

Your child will enjoy morning nature walks, use their five senses to make observations, and put their creativity to work designing nature themed art. Their focus will be on printmaking, which is a fantastic way to make multiple copies of your favorite artwork! They`ll carve a linocut, get messy with monotype, design a set of greeting cards, and even put their designs on fabric!
