Our Story

Most roofing companies hide their owners. Ever wonder why?

Hi, I am Josiah Oelerich-Valenica, I stood behind Valiant Roofing’s name when it was just me and my wife knocking doors and begging for work. Five years and a national franchise later we still want you to know who the owner is. My first boss in the roofing industry told me, the company and owner’s names don’t matter, we’ll change them again in 5 years to wipe out all the legal liability. He was right. They did.

I learned something that day. If a company doesn’t want you to know who owns it there normally is a reason why. And it’s not good for you.

Valiant Roofing began on the shores of Lake Superior in Ashland, WI as the dream of me and my (then) fiancée, Paulina, to own our own business and start a family. I left my job as an insurance adjuster and together we started selling roofs door-to-door while we lived out of Airbnb’s and the back seat of our Dodge pick-up until we earned enough money for our first apartment.

I still have that truck and my name still stands behind the Valiant name.

Except, instead of just a little office in my brother’s living room we now have franchises across America and we spend every day installing the highest quality roofs all backed by the Valiant Promise.
