Simmone was candid about her tough few years on The Summit, opening up about her financial struggles and hair loss.

She told 9Entertainment she was "feeling very grateful" for the "life-changing money" she won on the mountain, but said it did sting a little to walk away with an unequal split.

After making it to the top of the mountain, one final twist gave NSW nurse and midwife Charlotte the power to divide the $536,000 however she wanted.

Charlotte took $336,000 while Simmone and Mat walked away with an even $100,000.

"I was shattered, and I'm still eternally grateful because that money will definitely help but I won't be able to build the shed house that I'd planned to," she said.

Instead, Simmone plans to pay off her debts with her winnings.
