Luka Jovic’s Serbia Exits Euro 2024 But Seven AC Milan Players Proceed To The Round of 16

The Rossoneri have lots of players in the competition with a few looking strong to make a run for the title.

AC Milan sent eight players to Euro 2024, six have featured in the group stages. Seven players have made it through to the knockout rounds.

Luka Jovic is the only Milan player to have scored in the group stages. He scored a classic 95th minute equaliser for Serbia against Slovenia off a corner. Despite hi efforts, his winning goal against Denmark was chalked off and Serbia exit the competition.

Theo Hernandez and Mike Maignan were starters for France across all three group stages matches. Maignan is a standout with two clean sheets in three games and conceded just once as France won one and drew two to secure qualification. Olivier Giroud came off the bench in each of the games for 1, 15 and 30 minutes respectively. France play Belgium in the round of 16.

Tijjani Reijnders has been a central figure for the Netherlands as they navigated a group of death with a win over Poland, a draw with France and got through but were pipped 3-2 by Austria in the final game. Netherl;ands play Romania next.

Rafael Leao started two group stage matches but was suspended for the third. He has been a key attacking outlet for the Selecao as they beat Czech Republic and Turkiye but lost to Georgia. Portugal will face Slovenia in the round of 16.

Simon Kjaer was on the bench for all the games against Slovenia, England and Serbia. His side qualified to the next round. Denamrk play hosts Germany next.

Noah Okafor is yet to feature for Switzerland but his side have qualified for the round for 16 with two draws and a win. Switzerland will play Italy in the knockouts.
