We believe that the split groin flap can be a reliable option in complex volar defects of the fingers.

Anatomical variations of the PCBMN have been described in the literature with concern of the risk of injury, during procedures such as carpal tunnel release (MacDonald et al.; Lindley & Kleinert), volar approach to the wrist for distal radial fracture fixation, scaphoid pseudoarthrosis treatment (Martin et al., 1996; Nagle & Santiago), harvesting PL tendon graft, transferring FCR tendon and synovial cysts resection (Carroll & Green, 1972; McCann et al.).

Clinical outcome measures included range of motion (ROM), visual analog scale (VAS), functional outcomes (patient reported Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder and Hand [DASH] score and clinician-based Gartland-Werley score)16, radiographic scores (Stewart score)17 and parameters (radial inclination, volar tilt, radial height, radio-ulnar variance) related to quality of radiographic reduction and complications.

The three volar ulnar ligaments are the ulnocapitate (UC), ulnotriquetral (UT), and ulnolunate (UL).

Volar dislocation of the DRUJ is infrequently encountered in practice, with approximately 35 cases reported.

Analysis of the gross specimens confirmed that TFCC was composed of TFC (the articular disk), MH, dorsal and volar distal radioulnar ligaments, ECU, UCL, UT, and UL ligaments [Figure 1],[Figure 2],[Figure 3],[Figure 4].{Figure 1}{Figure 2}{Figure 3}{Figure 4}

Owing to obvious revealing of fracture, gross pain and limitation of motion along with awareness and improvements in medical care, delayed presentation of volar barton fracture is extremely rare.

Although volar plate fixation has become the gold standard in the treatment of unstable distal radius fractures, extensor tendon irritation and rupture are known complications of this procedure.

Radiological assessment of radial inclination, radial height and volar tilt was measured on immediate postoperative radiographs and then again measured at last available follow-up which ranged from 4 to 116 weeks.
