The lifting industry has been looking for a solution for a long time to prevent the dropping of equipment and components from heights. The Green Pin® Catch Shackle BN provides that solution. When assessing DROPS hazards in your workplace, use the hierarchy of controls to explore methods of prevention. Tools at height are an excellent example of engineered controls, but what if we could design the job in such a way to eliminate the use of tools. Consider the frequency we lift, can we manage with less? Do we have to erect scaffolding each time, or can we use other methods of working at height?

The DROPS Recommended Practice is a comprehensive guide on managing dropped object hazards in the workplace. It is a great place to start if you are new to the subject or could use a refresher. It ties all the difference resources like reliable securing, drops calculator, tools at height, etc together.
