Armed forces in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries typically do not have a military airworthiness capability in place, but they should. Establishing an airworthiness authority will allow militaries to manage these air assets, reduce operating costs, tailor aircraft performance to the needs of their armed forces, and build up their national defence industry.

Properly deployed, within a well-defined civil-military governance model, the military can help with the response and recovery from the pandemic.

The COVID-19 outbreak has hit the construction industry hard. Contractors in the GCC need to balance short-term measures to survive the crisis with medium-term measures to prepare for the eventual recovery.

Now would be a good time to rethink business model, network and fleet once services are restored.

Offsets have evolved over the past decade into more sophisticated commercial partnership agreements that produce clear, long-term economic benefits for buyers and sellers.
