Your strategic planning is based on historical data. How do you navigate when current market trends diverge?
The key to accurately analyze macro and micro trends isn’t by solely looking at the math behind it. In many cases the real trend driver isn’t public information, historical data and continuous data collection is the key to analyses and predict macro trends. Although it can be difficult to keep track of these drivers and connection to socioeconomic and geopolitical events; but it can be estimated and predicted by understanding individual’s background and behavior.

What role does organizational culture play in strategic planning?
I believe embracing open innovation through openness and diversity could be significant for change adoption and change management. I have seen seriously ambitious strategies fail due to lack of cultural alignment, either too fast or too slow. Enabling agile thinking and feedback loop can overcome such issues from the strategy formation to implementation; also enabling team champions to own and develop their domains will ensure accountability.
