    Since mid 2000s the MoH of Armenia in collaboration with UN agencies, other international partners started interventions targeted to promotion of Adolescent Healthcare in Armenia including staff training, improving practices, health education of teens etc. However, the analysis of morbidity, HBSC surveys held in Armenia since 2009 showed negative trends in health and health behavior of Armenian adolescents, especially in the field of mental health, eating behavior, oral health hygiene, physical fighting, knowledge on STI/HIV prevention. Thus, there is a crucial need to reinforce the processes and improve the overall situation with AH; for that there is a need for comprehensive analysis of situation and experiences of previous interventions and further developing the effective and sustainable models of AFHS.

    To respond to these needs, “Arabkir” Medical Centre - Institute of Child and Adolescent Health with the financial and technical support of UNFPA Armenia Country Office and with participation of the international consultant, generated this report and proposals based on the best international practices and experiences, toward developing comprehensive integrated models of adolescent health care in PHC facilities in Armenia.
