Maccas disputes speculation egg shortages are buckling its brekky menu

One McDonald's restaurant has told customers its breakfast menu has been impacted by the nationwide egg supply shortage.

McDonald's has rejected claims that a nationwide egg shortage has affected its breakfast menu despite a store admitting it is unable to sell McMuffins.

A restaurant has alerted customers there are no bacon and egg, mighty and sausage and egg muffins due to egg supply issues.

An image of the sign has been circulating on social media, leaving hungry Australians unsure whether their local store is impacted.

McDonald's has stepped in to confirm it is not experiencing supply chain shortage and the sign was an isolated issue to one restaurant.

The issue is believed to have been resolved at the affected location. 

Australia is facing an egg shortage due to an outbreak of the bird flu at Victorian, and now New South Wales, farms.

The virus detections have led to mass chicken culling, leaving a lot less eggs being laid.

Coles has responded and introduced a temporary purchase limit on eggs to two per person at all stores except in Western Australia.

Woolworths and Aldi are also reportedly facing egg supply disruptions.
