Couldnt find any that were like my old ones…cloud 9, dyson, ghd, just not good enough so thought id check the top rated amazon one….WOW WOW WOW WOW, biy them you wont be disappointed. They are 100 x better than my dysons, i am selling them on ebay now and buying another pair of these for spare

I have never had a set of straighteners that worked on my hair unless I used the highest heat setting of 230 degrees. These are a game changer I can literally straighten my hair on 200 degrees and possibly less which I plan to try next time. Stays straight and shiny for days. My hair is now well on the way to recovering from all the high heat that was used prior to purchasing these with no daily touch ups required. Would definitely purchase again as they are a great price that does not reflect the quality as these perform at a much higher level than many others I’ve tried that cost way more.

I got this Remington Shine Therapy Straightener / Styler on offer, so it was a bargain. I’ve used GHDs since 2002, having tried pretty much every model since it started. My current GHD is the platinum + model, and I have also tried their newest model, the Chronos, but I can honestly say that this Remington Shine Therapy straightener works better on my hair, straightening and curling it more quickly.

I have naturally wavy/ fluffy hair, which is quite fine but there’s a lot of it. It goes very frizzy as soon as there’s a bit of drizzle/humidity and I can never blow dry it anywhere near straight. When it fluffs up, it looks like a lion’s mane.

I’ve only been using these for a few days, but am blown away by how great they are. The plates are also longer than ghds, which I find makes them easier to curl/wave with, and quicker to straighten with.

When switched on, they heat up quickly, though the temperature display seems to flash for a couple of minutes (I haven’t timed it), which I believe indicates they are still heating up. However, I feel they work great even when the display is still flashing. When they switch on, they default to 190 degrees, so if you want them cooler or hotter, you just need to adjust with the buttons. I find 190 to be perfect for my hair, though I haven’t tried it cooler.

It glides through my hair so easily. I can’t believe how quickly and effectively it straightens my hair; it has never felt softer or looked healthier. It’s great at curling/waving too, producing long lasting waves for a natural beachy look.

There’s a button to lock the plates closed when not in use. This is a great idea but I do sometimes find it a little stiff so I tend not to use it. It’s not something that’s featured on any of my ghds before, so I will probably just continue to use the silicone sleeve I have from my ghd platinums, which holds the styler closed.

If I straighten my hair with this, it remains pretty straight until I wash it again (sometimes just needing a straightening top up if it’s been tied in a ponytail. I needed to straighten my hair daily with my GHDs regardless of whether it was a hair wash day or not.

The results are so much better with this than my ghds. I should also state that I have used cloud 9s too, which I didn’t think were that great.

I can honestly say that this is the best straightener/styler I have ever used. I think I’d just assumed that no one would ever make anything anywhere near as good as ghds but I suppose 20+ years have passed since GHD infiltrated the market.

Before spending loads of money on a top of the range one, give this a try, especially if it’s on offer. I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.

Edit: I’m now nearly 8 weeks in, and my hair still loves this straightener. I wondered if the honeymoon period would wear off, but it hasn’t! And the best of it is, I haven’t had to do anything to my hair (other than brush it) since I washed it (and blow dried and straightened it) two days ago. That was unheard of before I owned this :)

I’m new to straighteners having previously preferred to use curlers in my quite fine, very straight hair. I’ve had these for about 6 months now and they are a revelation. I never realised straighteners were so versatile, creating curls and waves alongside straightening.

I really love the wide range of heat settings. I tend to use a lower setting for my hair but my daughter’s hair is thicker and longer so she uses a slightly higher setting. The end result is soft and shiny hair whether curling, waving or straightening.

They are quick to heat up but also quick to cool down and the come in a cute little bag for travel. They’re now in daily use in my house.

On blown out hair 2-3 passes give a silky finish, however for the most brave the temperature goes up to 230 so it could most likely achieve a silk press. Needless to say that for anyone with finer hair, straightening their hair with this tool will be a walk in the park!
I liked its modern slim design and it does not feel bulky on the hands. I especially liked the temperature lock system, safeguarding against accidental changes in the settings.
It would be nice if it came with in own mat but at the price I got it , I could not ask for anything more.
