Brilliant app (+a few suggestions how to make it even better)

Amazing app and card which makes travel on EV in Europe much-much easier! Thank you for such a great product.

A few suggestions how to make it even better, although some of those improvements may not be easy or quick to implement:

1) Integration with cars app
Like in Tesla, which can automatically map out a few chargers depending on your battery status and anticipated route. I know about the map planner in the app, but it requires battery status input every time you use it, would be easier if it can feed it from the car directly. Plus it doesn’t take into account other parameters which may impact my preference on the go, such as cafe & restaurants nearby (see p. 2 below), number of chargers (I try to avoid single chargers as they often can be broken or busy), price per kwh (see p. 3 below), etc.

2) Add info about cafe & restaurants nearby
Given that charging normally takes 30-60 minutes it is worth having info about cafes or grocery shops nearby. Right now if I don’t want to sit in the middle of nowhere, but prefer to have a lunch or coffe while my car is being charged I have to do a research switching between Google Maps and Electroverse in an attempt to optimise my travel experience.

3) Add pricing filter
Sometimes it is not only about speed of charging, but money. Right now I have to click on every charger to check the price and choose an optimum one. Would be great to have that feature!

One of the easiest to plan a route

I’m new to EV ownership and planning a route. So far charging at home has been enough for me. I’ve tried several apps I found this one to be one of the easiest apps to plan a route with. I really like the route list showing the likely charge at each step of the way and how long it is likely to take to achieve a specific charge at each of the selected charge stations. I’ll know soon how accurate this is going to be when I use my first planned route to my holiday destination. I will be travelling with others in their own cars so it would be really useful if I could share my planned route by email etc with them. It would also be nice to be able to select a satellite view of the map when planning a route. It does not seem possible to edit a saved route, only delete it or am I missing something. It would also be useful to alter if I could alter the order of the list by dragging up or down the list instead of deleting it and adding it again. I just tried the new CarPlay app in my 2020 Kona and tried to use my new saved route but it doesn’t work. I found and selected my saved route. It said it was from Manor Lane, Hampshire to SA44 4XA. I then selected go but it started my route from Chepstow. Even then it was not showing Chepstow on the map, I had to zoom out to see the route.

Hey! Thank you for the great review - and the kind words! we especially love it when someone is new to the EV community. Your feedback is really useful - we're working on some improvements to the route planner right now, so watch this space. Have a lovely holiday! The Electroverse team

Not User Friendly

I’m a system developer/analyst/tester and I find the app hard to navigate plus it lacks necessary features compared to other apps I use. My first use was nightmare - the app won’t confirm charging had started, it kept asking me to start charge whereas my car had started charging. I was confused so I tried stopping the charge to start again but it was stuck. I tried using my payment card on the charging station to stop the charge but it won’t recognise it because I didn’t start the charging with the card - I had to reduce my charging limit so my car can stop charging when it reaches the limit. If I’m not into systems, I wouldn’t know what to do. Also, I came out of the charging station thinking it was free charging since I didn’t see how to pay but got an email next morning from you on charges- not something I would recommend to someone that has an alternative. It was a nightmare!!!!

Hi, there. Thanks for reaching out - we're sorry to hear that your experience wasn't smooth, that's not what we want. It sounds like a bug occurred when you attempted the in-app charging function. As you rightly commented, you can only stop a charge using the same method you used to start it - which is why your payment card did not work. We have an FAQs section on the website (this also should have been flagged on your phone screen) which covers troubleshooting for in-app charging. If a problem does occur, the best way to get in contact with us is via our email address ([email protected]). With regards to rates, you would have been billed for the energy usage during the charging session to the payment method you have attached to your account (it is not possible to start a charge without a payment method linked to your account), and the rates for the charge point can be found within the app. To view this information, you just need to tap on the relevant charging station pin on the map. If you'd like to chat through any of the above - or to provide further feedback - please reach out to us via email; we'd love to chat!
