GPS Tracks voor de Mac is een van de beste apps voor het bewerken en maken van routes op je Mac. Synchroniseer al je opgeslagen tracks van GPS Tracks naar de app om ze te bewerken en te bekijken. Het is ook perfect voor het bewerken van GPX- of KML-bestanden.

Functies -

Synchroniseren
- Synchroniseer al je opgeslagen tracks en waypoints van en naar GPS Tracks vanaf elk apparaat.

Routes en tracks maken en bewerken
- Tracks bewerken die zijn gemaakt van GPS-tracks of die zijn geïmporteerd uit een bestand
- Geselecteerde punten uit een track verwijderen
- Tracks samenvoegen
- Tracks splitsen
- Een geselecteerd pad uit een huidige track knippen om een nieuwe track te maken
- Routes handmatig maken voordat u uw track start
- Routes maken van een set waypoints
- Trackstatistieken bekijken
- Tracks exporteren naar GPX, KML, KMZ of CSV
- Meerdere tracks exporteren naar één bestand

Waypoints maken en bewerken
- Waypoints toevoegen of bewerken die zijn opgeslagen in de app
- Waypoints maken van kaartzoekopdrachten
- Elk waypoint aanpassen met een pinkleur
- Op elk gewenst moment converteren tussen vier sets coördinaten (decimaal, DMS, MGRS, UTM)
- MGRS-rasteroverlay toevoegen aan kaart

Tracks bekijken
- Opgeslagen tracks bekijken en opnieuw afspelen
- Interactieve statistische grafiek voor elke track bekijken
- Elk waypoint bekijken dat is opgeslagen met elke track

Jammer dat de Pro weer aan abonnement vastzit.

Loosing its touch

In essence it was a great tracking solution. WAS, because unfortunately it’s slowly braking down.

Let’s stay on the fair side. This is a great and complete tracker. All for free, no adds at all. Where do you find that these days? Only if you want to go beyond the basics, you’ll end up with the payed Pro version, but that’s only fair as you’re probably a heavy and/or professional user. And a developer can’t eat for free either…..

Unfortunately though, functions that used to work, stopped working properly during the last couple of updates of both this app and iOS.

For instance:
- the speed graph often refuses to show more than the first ⅓ of my run.
- when I start registering on my watch, it disappears after a while. When opening the app again, it completely lost its track. When I then open the app on the phone, there’s no active registration either. But….. when I want to start another run, a couple of days later, it all of a sudden wants to resume that one track that was gone a couple of days ago. When saving that track, it shows a real odd and useless registration. By result, using the watch is totally useless.

All of this started a couple versions ago.

Before this odd behaviour started, it was a great tracker, worth the full stack of five stars!
In it current state however, it’s actually not even worth the 3 stars I gave. I just don’t want to be too negative about what was and still can move back to very good…..
